a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in assessing,
diagnosing, and treating patients ensuring they receive the care

but are not limited to:Patient Assessment & DiagnosisConduct
physical exams, including evaluation of the heart, lungs, and
gastrointestinal system.Identify abnormalities, such as enlarged
organs or masses.Examine the eyes, ears, throat, skin, and other
body systems for signs of disease or malformation.Perform
venipunctures and order necessary laboratory test.Interpret
laboratory tests results to inform patient care.Treatment & Care
ManagementDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans as
the primary provider.Treat infections, sprains, simple fractures,
and minor wounds.Prescribe medications, including antibiotics,
within authorized scope.Refer complex cases to physicians or
specialists as needed.Educate patients on health, wellness, and
treatment option.Training & CollaborationMentor and guide nurses
and health specialists in expanding their skills.Work closely with
physicians to discuss diagnosis and treatment challenges.Oversee
and authorize treatments administered under your supervision.This
position is represented by American Federation of State, County,
and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for

inside Santiam Correctional Institution in Salem, Oregon. The
purpose of this job is primary care and medical management of the
adults in custody, including examination, diagnosis, treatment, and
performance of specialized procedures that are within scope of
practice of the licensed nurse practitioner, with referral to a
physician when determination is made that illness or treatment is
beyond the scope of practice. Treatment is provided in a setting
that ranges from ambulatory or clinic care to infirmary or the
